A couple weeks ago I attended a blogger and photographer brunch hosted by blogger and event planner, Robin Jones (My Closet Journey) at Central Social Hall on Jasper Ave. Edmonton’s blogger community is so bigger than I could have imagined; and I was so happy to be invited. As a self proclaimed foodie and someone who has been taking photos of my food since I was a kid (it was considered an “Allen thing” that my family and I did) I was literally SO excited to go to this brunch. And now, I’ve been dying to share my favourite snaps with you!
First thing upon arrival I was handed a mimosa. I knew this was gonna be a good day. Everyones place was set with succulent planters by Charmed Floral Design Inc and little bouquets by Them Blooms. Absolutely gorgeous!
Jesse Kupina (co-owner of Central Social Hall) shared so much great information bout the creation of their food menu and cocktails. I learned that they try to use as many local ingredients as possible and support local bakeries. How great!? I used to work in the restaurant industry in college and let me tell you this is rare! Restaurants typically get away with all that they can in terms of using frozen ingredients and non local produce. Such a shame! Not the case at Central. They also only use ONE canned item which is a special type of canned tomato that comes from Italy. Just one. My mouth was watering at every bite and I swear the Belgian Waffles with strawberry rhubarb compote was created especially in my honour. It couldn’t have appealed to me more and I NEVER order waffles. I’m typically a savoury eater when it comes to breakfast but damn these were incredible. I cannot wait to get back for more! Anyways, enough reading! Take a look at what you’re really here for and enjoy the photos!
